About Alternative Healing

What is Alternative Medicine?

For centuries, cultures around the world have practiced forms of healing that focus on balance, energy, and the connection between mind, body, and spirit. While Western medicine traditionally focuses on diagnosing and treating specific parts of the body, Eastern and other complementary approaches view health as a reflection of overall harmony.

Today, more people are recognizing the value of combining both perspectives. By integrating the precision of Western medicine with the holistic wisdom of alternative therapies, we can support true wellness—helping each person reach their fullest potential in health and well-being.

Acupuncture is a gentle, natural therapy that has supported health and healing for over 2,000 years. In Chinese medicine, well-being is connected to the smooth flow of energy, called Qi, throughout the body. When this energy becomes blocked or depleted, it can show up as pain, stress, or illness. Acupuncture uses very fine needles to stimulate specific points, helping your energy flow freely again. The result is restored balance, reduced discomfort, and a greater sense of overall wellness.

At Robyn’s Nest our goal is to help you restore your health, renew your energy, and live the vibrant life you’re meant to live.

What is Cupping Therapy

Ancient Healing for Modern Pain Relief

Cupping therapy is a time-honored healing practice that uses gentle suction to increase circulation, relieve tension, and support the body’s natural healing process. Often used alongside acupuncture, this therapy helps reduce inflammation, ease muscle soreness, and restore balance throughout the body.

Cupping is especially beneficial for back, neck, and shoulder pain, as well as muscle stiffness and fatigue. By drawing fresh blood and energy to the area, it helps release stagnation and promotes deep relaxation.

What to Expect During a Session

During your session, small cups are placed on specific areas of the body and left in place for several minutes. You may feel a gentle pulling or stretching sensation as tight muscles begin to relax and circulation improves.

After treatment, the skin may appear pink or slightly bruised—this is a normal and temporary response as the body flushes out tension and brings in fresh energy. Most clients leave feeling lighter, looser, and deeply relaxed.

Moving Cupping

Moving cupping combines the benefits of suction and massage. A light layer of oil is applied to the skin, and the cups are smoothly glided across the muscles. This technique helps break up deep adhesions, increase circulation, and release chronic tightness.

It’s especially effective for larger muscle groups, such as the back and legs, providing a soothing, warm, and invigorating experience.

Fire Cupping

Fire cupping is a traditional method that uses a small flame to create suction within glass cups before they are gently placed on the skin. The mild vacuum draws out stagnation, warms the muscles, and stimulates the flow of blood and energy.

Fire cupping is typically used for certain conditions such as chronic pain, muscle stiffness, and cold or stagnant areas in the body. The treatment leaves a deep sense of warmth and rejuvenation.

Wet Cupping

Wet cupping, or Hijama, is a specialized technique used only in specific circumstances. It involves light skin pricks before applying suction to help draw out stagnation and promote the circulation of fresh, oxygen-rich blood.

This method is used selectively for certain conditions where detoxification or deep energetic cleansing is beneficial. It is always performed under professional, sterile conditions to ensure safety and comfort.

A Holistic Approach to Pain Relief
Whether used alone or combined with acupuncture, cupping therapy offers a natural way to release tension, improve circulation, and restore balance. Each session is tailored to your needs—helping you feel more open, relaxed, and renewed from the inside out.

Here you are held. Here you are whole.
